Sometimes I think a writing challenge is just what I need to get into good habits again! But also, writing challenges often bring with them things that are negative in my life: pressure, guilt, and work that consumes all my time.
I want the habit more than I want the word count. Word counts can come later! But right now, I want to rebuild a sustainable writing habit where at least once a day (with wiggle room) I am putting my brain into Writer Mode.
So that’s what this challenge is about!
The Little Writing Habits Challenge is to write 5 days a week for 2 weeks. You get one point for writing 10 words on a day. You get an extra point for writing 100 words on a day. There are 20 Points total. 10 points is a success! 11+ points is a bonus victory. And you can share about it with #LittleWritingChallenge if you feel like it.
More than anything, this is a challenge aimed at myself. I don’t want a challenge that makes me tired at the end of it, I just want a little extra motivation each day to write. And if that sounds like you, maybe you’d like this challenge as well.
I’m starting today (Monday 2 August 2021) and going for 2 weeks, but you are welcome to start whenever suits you, in a week, in a month, in a year: there are no rules. Just write 10 words a day 5 days a week for 2 weeks.
