‘So you’re some kind of selkie?’ she asked casually, toying with her hair.

The other woman shrugged. ‘Something like that.’ She swung the rippling hide cloak around her shoulders as she plunged into the ocean.

Moments later, a tall wedge rose up and cut across the water.

‘Oh,’ said the first woman. ‘Oh!’ She rubbed her mouth. ‘Well, that explains the teeth …’
