Fish Wish

‘If you release me, I will grant you a wish,’ said the fish to the fisher.

The fisher shook their head. ‘No wish necessary.’ They slid the fish back into the lake.

The fish popped up. ‘No wish? Do you fear I will trick you?’

‘I don’t feel great about holding a talking fish hostage. Actually, I think I might find a new trade.’

‘If you won’t accept my wish, perhaps you will grant me one instead?’

‘Sure.’

‘There’s an itch on my back I can never reach …’
